First fire in Salmon Arm zone caused by people

Along with the other 36 fires in the Kamloops Fire Centre since the first of April, this forest fire that started Sunday, April 13 on the mountain just above the Petro Canada in Chase is believed to be person-caused.

Downtown parking trial comes to an end

Following a 20-minute discussion, city council voted against a recommendation by the Downtown Parking Commission to expand the two-hour parking trial on Hudson - slated to end April 25 - to the entire downtown area until March 31, 2015.

Salmon Arm's Salvation Army Thrift Store to close

The Salvation Army's B.C. division has announced it will close the thrift store at 441 Third Ave. SW, which adjoins the Lighthouse emergency shelter, on Thursday, April 17. The division states in a news release it is closing the store after three years "due to circumstances beyond the control of the organization."
