Former election candidate accuses federal body of screw-up costing him thousands in pay

A former federal election candidate says he almost lost his job - not to mention thousands of dollars in pay - because of a "total fabrication" by a government agency. Like a juicy piece of gossip infecting a classroom, a baseless accusation in a document passed around by bureaucrats almost cost him his career, Andrew Caddell alleges - and like kids trying to avoid detention, they did everything possible, he says, to "cover their butts."
