-- I feel bad for the workers, but it is good that things slow right down, until we get a good grip on what type of housing we need for the future.. the day of the cookie cutter homes should be over.. We need to start with new canvas & rebuild to fit the new needs. Much smaller, to match the new footprint, required to cut many of the present energy wasting, & inefficient heating & water systems that need upgrading, from where we are today. The new housing needs new lands with different utilities from the ground up with new metering for off-peak lower costs & maybe some DC wiring with new auto batteries to carry homes & offices during peak times.. & LED lighting, combustion toilets, more radiant & supplementary systems to reduce fossil fuels & or combustion products in tight houses.. also air cleaning UV-C bulbs in ducts, & R/O water filtering & demand water heaters on individual taps with reuse of grey water for flushing etc. from built in Hydroponic growing units, to all the smart house software upgrades. 12 month growing within the units, for vegies & sprouts. yes without the slow down - we would be still building the wrong buildings for the future... lets get it right & they will be sold, rented or stataized ? eh?
