They wouldn't be doing this to her if her name was Aliyah Mustafa and she wore a burqa.

Nailing the BBC's Anti-Western Bias
http://newsbusters.org/node/11444

The BBC tonight is admitting what many of it critics have expected for years. It is biased. Leaks to British newspapers say top BBC executives have acknowledged that Britain's largest broadcast has promoted left-wing views and anti-Christian sentiments. And those executives also admitted the BBC is guilty of being anti-American. One senior BBC official said bias is now so deeply embedded in the BBC culture, it will be almost impossible to remove it.

Evidence of anti-Christian bias in the UK.

"British Airways has asked a Christian member of staff to conceal her cross necklace because it contravenes the company's uniform policy...Opposition to its display may be fairly interpreted therefore as a manifestation of opposition to the religion of Christ." (ivanfoster.org , 11/1/2006).

"BBC frightened of criticising Islam, says archbishop"

The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, has accused the BBC of bias against Christianity and says the broadcaster fears a terrorist backlash if it is critical of Islam. The archbishop, the second most senior figure in the Church of England's hierarchy, said Christians took "more knocks" than other faiths at the hands of the BBC. Dr Sentamu claims Christians take 'more knocks' at the BBC "They can do to us what they dare not do to the Muslims," he said. "We are fair game because they can get away with it. We don't go down there and say,'We are going to bomb your place.' That is not in our nature."

"Media is anti-Christian, says Sky News reporter"

Widespread anti-Christian bias in the media means that groups like The Christian Institute face an "uphill struggle" for fair coverage, says a Sky News journalist. Journalists select the information they wish to report based on a largely anti-Christian ideology, says David Blevins, a former Washington correspondent for Sky News...In 2006 executives at the BBC admitted that they would consider broadcasting a scene where the Bible was thrown away but they would never do the same with the Koran.

Canada's CBC is not far from the same.

They won't say the word Christmas but rather holidays. Their excuse is that we must be inclusive, we are multi-cutural and around Christmas time there is also el id, kwanzaa...They seem to forget that CHRISTmas has been part of this country, culture, heritage and history for a LONG LONG time.

However, just some time ago while watching CBC, they had no problen saying Ramadhan.

It's because of muslims marrying their 12-year-old cousins and importing them from pakiland and elsewhere (to use them as incubators) that has brought about this law that has put this couple in this situation.
Her husband should just emigrate to Canada instead.

"British MPs, including Keith Vaz, chairman of the Home Affairs Committee, have asked Home Secretary Alan Johnson to bend the rules"

Well he would, he's used to 'bending the rules' himself. I don't really have a lot of sympathy for these two. Perhaps they should have done some research and done it all properly.

Officially, and symbolic, Canada's head of state is the Queen. We still have very close ties with England etc...So what's wrong with one of her Cdn subjects marrying, moving/staying, with her new hubby in the "homeland"?

I knew a guy from Scotland who was an engineer working on a construction site I was also working. Guy told me he wanted to stay in Canada but immigration was giving him hell.(Don't know if he was able to stay in the end or not). He also said the same thing that if he was some muslim immigrant etc..they would probably give him a much easier time.

Nothing against anyone at all but why is it in Canada that our usual immigrants were European until the late 60s+ and now it's from somewhere else while giving European based applicants a hard time.

Biased if you asked me.

Same thing with minority hiring/promotions within the public service sector etc...."sorry, we have to hire these many first" etc...It's as good as telling me "sorry, you are white". Born in my own country and hearing that sh*t goes on! Imagine if they did that to someone who was not white.

If everyone deserves a chance, and rightly so, that also includes my people!
