Low-tide Day is among many programs offered by the Cowichan Estuary Nature Centre to be solar heated thanks to a $7,600 foundation grant.

Pandalus platyceros , or the spot prawn, is a Northwest delicacy I first heard about a couple of years ago on a trip to Vancouver, BC, home of the largest spot prawn festival in the province .

It was a partridge in a pear tree, painted when she was 15 years old after receiving her first set of oil paints from her parents, while living on a farm in Saskatchewan.
