Rifle, shotguns stolen from Bowmanville home
The long guns -- a Savage 30 bolt action rifle, two Winchester .12 gauge shotguns and an Optima .410 shotgun -- were stolen along with jewelry and electronics during a break-in at a home in the vicinity of Scugog Street and Longworth Avenue Friday, Nov. 29, Durham police said.

Violent crime up in Clarington, but collisions and thefts from vehicles decline
"Our violent crime rate is up this year, it's not out of control," Inspector Rolf Kleum told Clarington council during his overview of the 2013 community safety priorities.
Green Road connection in west Bowmanville moves ahead
