IdleAire May Have Buyer

IdleAire has to be a system who's time has come. If the company was mismanaged in the past, and run by non truckers, I'm sure there will be a progressive company that will take it over and do it right. One company that comes to mind is Danaher Corp., the outfit that brings you the familiar Jake Brake. I am not a Green Head, and think global warming is one huge pile of Camel Dung. However, fuel costs, noise, and engine wear have to be a factor.

The APU is also a viable solution, but a better job has to be done to quiet them, and they should be liquid cooled to be used to keep the engine warm durning long layovers. A liqid cooled engine,(more costly yes) is more efficient, can be made quieter, and why can't the exhast be piped into the truck system and blown skyward, along with most of the noise. Cheap installations will be just that.

My apu is liquid cooled, the same liquid passes through the engine block and heats the engine.. oh and my exhaust has a stack beside one of my 4 inch stacks to the same hight.. I am still removing the deisel burning generator and replacing it with deep discharge batteries and an inverter...
