Judge rules in Diller's favor in lawsuit filed by IAC shareholder

A Delaware judge ruled Friday in favor of IAC Chief Executive Barry Diller in a dispute with Liberty Media Corp. that could help to determine the fate of the company.
A judge decided Liberty had failed to prove Diller violated an agreement between them by pursuing a plan to break the IAC/InteractiveCorp Internet conglomerate into five parts. Vice Chancellor Stephen Lamb of the Delaware Chauncery Court ruled that Diller isn't required to get Liberty's approval for splitting up the company.

Judge upholds firing of police officer in MySpace case
“This opinion would essentially allow a police chief to suspend a police officer indefinitely as long as charges aren't officially filed through a hearing authority such as a council. Obviously, we disagree with that decision.”
A Fayette Circuit Court judge has ruled that the city of Lexington had reason to fire a police officer who was embroiled in a controversy over postings on the social networking Web site MySpace.com, some of which involved the officer's role in arresting country singer John Michael Montgomery.
Joshua Cromer was fired in February 2007. He sued the city, asking for reinstatement and back pay.
The Urban County Council unanimously approved Cromer's firing, citing misconduct, inefficiency, insubordination and conduct unbecoming a police officer. Read more

NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - When a second trailer for "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" premieres online, it should spread as fast as the first, thanks to a widget.
Paramount plans to launch the widget this week, but the studio declined to state when the new trailer will debut.
Paramount is counting on the small, portable applications that can be posted on blogs and social networks to maximize the exposure for its trailers. The first "Skull" trailer, released in February, has racked up millions of views. Read more

Chris Avenir's apparent exhortation to fellow Ryerson University engineering students to 'input solutions' to assignment problems on the social networking site raised the ire of a professor.
