CEO George David Will Pass Top UTC Job To Successor
“I always felt uncomfortable when he was doing that”
Last fall, in an interview with New York magazine, a former Citigroup executive called George David 'a rock star.'
For many people on Wall Street, the outgoing chief executive of United Technologies Corp.
neatly fits the bill: In 14 years as CEO, he's made money by the hundreds of millions, raced his own sailboat across oceans and wed a countess half his age. To 225,600 people around the world - nearly twice the population of Hartford - David is the boss.
But unlike some CEOs of his stature, David isn't a household name, even in his hometown. Cultivating renown has never been his game. The man with the Midas touch has always preferred talking productivity to posing for the press. Read more

A decade later, the winds favoring ultrasecure incarceration have shifted. Read more
