Power producer Dynegy Inc. said Thursday it swung to a third-quarter profit, lifted by better-than-expected business at its power generation unit and the sale of a power plant.
The company earned $220 million, or 26 cents per share, in the three months ended Sept. 30 versus a loss of $69 million, or 14 cents per share, in the year-ago quarter.
The most-recent quarter included a $110 million after-tax gain on the August sale of Dynegy's CoGen Lyondell plant in suburban Houston to electric utility PNM Resources Inc. Read more
