Police target prostitution

Burnsville has long been a huge part of the business. All of those hotels on the interstate know what the deal is - and as long as the hookers are quiet they let it happen. Guess there's just not enough legal business coming from the lame Mall of America or the airport now.......... And I love how the "City of Burnsville" is actually trying to keep the dying fantasy that it's a nice place to live or work. If the hookers don't get ya, the methheads will!!!

Let's let the murders, rapists, thieves and robbers go free so we can spend our time arresting consenting adults who want to have sex for money.

Its a lot easier than doing actual police work, and kind of titilating for the officers involved.

Gambling has been legalized in the state, so why not prostitution? If it is kept within bounds and supervised, it could solve a lot of city's money shortages. It's out there now and causing all kinds of problems taking up time from law enforcement officers. Contain it and regulate it and make some money for the counties where it's permitted. Strip bars and gambling joints do it. Why stop there? It would also lower the unemployment rate and take many off the streets. It could also make use of many abandoned buildings caused by the mortgage crisis. Our prisons are already overpopulated. Let's think outside the box.

Because of the patriarchal society we live in this has happened. Giving tax breaks to the wealthy is also another cause. We spend so little in social services in this state that these poor women don't realize they can get a good education and escape this life.

Does anyone else find it strangely ironic that it's the Burnsville resident themselves who are responsible for this? They are a largely Republican city and it's they themselves who have voted to give tax breaks to the wealthy. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!

BUSH'S FAULT!

If the escort is 18+, sober, mentally sound and not coerced, then why make it a crime to have sex for money? Sex makes people feel good on emotional and physical levels. So do massages and haircuts. You are paying a person to perform a service on you. This should seriously not be a crime. And Burnsville is kidding themselves if they think they're doing a service to their community by "ridding" them of prostitutes - it's the oldest profession, remember?

Mrs.R. you have got to be kidding? spend so little on social services? What world are you living in. These women choose this because it suppliments their welfare check. Get real. The reason they don't go to school and get an education is because they lack motivation. That would be too much work. Easier to lay on my back and earn 2 to 3 times as much.

Most prostitutes have Addiction issues. They made bad "choices" and now rent out their bodies to support their habit.
They didnt turn to addiction after they 'chose" to rent out their bodies...they rent their bodies because of the addiction.....I hope I made my point.

They are victims of their "choices". Why they make the "choices" they make are because of life experiences....just like every other human being.

Good experience or Bad experience does not matter to me, and it should not matter as a consideration in Law.(Not every abused girl grows up to be a prostitute so spare me that victim excuse please).

Most men in prison, probably in 90% range, have Addiction issues. They didnt become addicts because of a life of crime. They "Chose" a life of crime because of their Addiction issues.

Women, to support their Addiction can and do rent out their bodies. The revenue generated purchases their drug of "choice".

Men, to support their addiction mostly cannot rent out their bodies. To generate revenue to purchase their drug of "choice, they rob, steal, burgarize, and and Victimize others.

Men, because of their addiction, populate 98% of the prison cells in America.

Women, because of their Addiction....are victims in need of financial and community support, and the Police need to criminalize the "Johns" that patronize the prostitutes.

A man commits a sex crime....he gets Prison and a lifetime of registeration as a danger to society.

A woman commits a sex crime (prostitution is sex, and it is a crime= sex crime)....the man gits jail time, a loss of his car, and a lifetime of shame because he is a danger to society.

These women and the scumbag men who visit with them are sinners! They deserve more than prison! They will feel God's wrath one day and most likely will burn in hell forever!! Sex should only be used for procreation and it is not intended to be fun!
I applaud the crack down of this illicit activity and hope that the police will continue to rid our communities of this filth. We need to shut down the sex dance clubs, the sex movie theaters, the sex stores, and the sex book stores! We need to ban those magazines and movies from our State before more children are infected with this sin!
