Hudson, N.H., firefighters union severs ties with telemarketing firm after complaints

The firefighters union is cutting its longtime ties with a fundraising company after four selectmen reported a telemarketer falsely posing as a Hudson firefighter.

They have been calling for years and they act like they know you personally and being single at the time I felt VERY uncomfortable with the conversation. The guy sounded one step from a 900# call.....very weird.

Just one of the reasons I never donate to phone solicitors. If you are in a position to do so, give directly to the organization itself, then they get 100% of your donation.

Doesn't anyone think it weird that firefighters "sell" fund raising to these telemarketers?? They're public employees, but they sell their name for fund raising? And police groups with circus tickets. Definitely a conflict of interest that gives the appearance of threatening. I love those "supporter of police association" stickers on cars. It's definitely close to mobernment. Just tell them no and hangup.
