Brunswick cites economy in decision to close boat factory

“The U.S. marine industry has been in a prolonged slowdown since late 2005”

Brunswick Corp. , citing the "prolonged slowdown" that has hit the recreational boat industry, said late Tuesday that it intends to close a 175-worker South Carolina production facility. via Chicago Tribune

Brunswick is a great company and the quality of the boats will be hard to replace.

Yes, I agree. My dad worked 20 years as a BRC manager and they were very good to him. But their quality is sure hard to beat.

They make awful boats. About time. They've mismanaged and ruined every company and product they ever touched.
