Hole forces Qantas plane to land

A passenger plane en route from London to Melbourne has made an emergency landing in the Philippines after a large hole appeared in its fuselage.

What the hell are these so called experts talking about. That hole is behind where the wing to body fairing would be. The fuselage skin that's part of the fwd cargo bay. Is there a air conditioning distribution bay aft of the fwd cargo on the 747? I am not familiar with this A/C. I suppose there could have been a crack in the area that had gone undetected because of the fairing.

Wow, there are other airlines that have e-landings besides NWA. And here I thought it was just us.
