Airline service dissed

“They're supposed to deliver passengers with their luggage to a particular destination within a certain timeframe, and they frequently fail to do that.”

Passengers are more dissatisfied with airlines' customer service than they have been in years at a time when carriers are charging more and more for tickets and services. via Times Leader

Consumers are paying higher and higher costs for tickets?? My brother recently was able to purchase a round trip ticket to Ft. Lauderdale Florida from Chattanooga TN for $29.00 each way!! Get real already. I think that the airlines need to start charging more. Maybe they would get a higher class of customer

I truly don't think service is worse than it was a few years ago. Amenities may be fewer but I gotta tell you, passengers' attitudes, their unwillingness to cooperate in turning off their cell phones and other portable electronics devices and just overall "me, me, me" attitude has gotten steadily worse over the last 5 years. They bring on all sorts of carry on luggage, take up all the space in the overhead compartments leaving little for others and just expect more than they ever have. We have moved from a society of courtesy and consideration to one where people expect everything and pitch a small fit when they aren't given anything and everything they want. If airline ticket costs were to rise in relation to everything else, tickets would cost 3 times as much now as they did 20 years ago and then the airlines could afford to pay the people who actually provide that service decently and be able to give you a lot more than you're currently getting.
