More unemployment means more foreclosures.... I'm expecting to see home prices fall below 2000 levels.

The sequence of airline failures is interrupted every once in a while with 'anomolies of stability' for short periods. 'Most' of the U.S. air carriers are managed at the very top by arrogant, lazy, self-indulgent, under-educated, incompetent buffoons. They cannot measure, nor define, the financial health of their companies...simply because they don't know how. They sit and watch their operations fall into disarray and then blame the cost of jet fuel. Nonsense! U.S. airlines have management teams comprised of amateurs and sychophants!

Good riddance all that have gone and all that will go. Break the Unions (especially the Pilot Unions) and stop catering to tourist and the 4 airline that are left will be profitable and a joy to fly on. Let the tourist fly on charters and specialty carriers and let the business travel fly on his/her over priced ticket in piece and quiet without hearing Pilots bitch and complain all the time about their lot in life. Ungrateful Union hacks!

I'm sure you will be happy when you or someone you know is in an airline accident that is attributed to pilot fatigue. Unions keep safe work rules in place.

The pilot labor unions you hate so much have done far more for airline safety and saved more lives then the FAA and NTSB. If you only had 4 airlines to choose from do you really think they would offer a better product and cheaper fares than are offered now with the greater competition?

FRONTIER might be next...... With United having a strong hold at DEN and Southwest prefering DEN instead of SLC, Frontier better have a lot more cash reserves then it have now in order to stay alive.

If you take away competition you will have High prices. The union has helped in plenty of ways, on the other hand it has its own set of issues. I do however agree that theres a lot of management that shouldnt be in charge becasue of possibly the way they entered management. They all forget about the mechanics and the pilots seem to have the largest portion of the pie. Soon we'll be down to a chosen few and hi prices so what will happen than... I think I agree Frontier will possibly be next

Oh ya, here comes all the crap about Pilots and how good you all are and how good the Unions are. You guys ready your press clippings too much. Flying an MD80 is not shooting an F16 off a carrier. This is not the 1950's when you actual had to fly a plane and Union's did the job for people with out skills back in the early 1900's. Times have changed except for Pilots with your big egos. The airlines do not exist for your benefit. You are lucky to have a job most people dream of at pay and benefit levels well above average Americans. Where else can you work 12 days a month for an above 6 figure income? You are blessed yet cry like babies because someone else makes a few bucks more then you or in case of CEO’s a lot more. What jerks! It is funny as a business traveler who sits up front all the time, because I can instantly notice which Pilots fly because they love it and which Pilots are Pilots because of the pay, benefits and prestige. The Union hacks are easy to spot!

Here's a little dose of reality from the New York Times as to what this career has become: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/10/business/10... 90% of the time this job is pretty easy. However, our training is not easy, and it is not easy because of the times when the s___ hits the fan. Thats when we earn our keep. I hope Frontier is not the next to go. I believe they offer the best product out there, particularly here in DEN. I work for a charter carrier and likely spend more time in the back of airplanes than Cal does, so I know something about quality of service. But unlike Cal my company puts me in coach, so maybe I'm not so pampered? Another thing to remember is that we the employees have our entire career invested in our particular airline, and will do more to keep it afloat. If that airline fails we have to start all over at the bottom somewhere else, while the execs take their golden parachutes and land somewhere else at the same pay. At my carrier it is the mechanics, the handling agents, the FAs, and yes the pilots that keep the airline running smoothly despite the mistakes of those at the top.

The more companies pay, the more we all pay.

With all do respect , you sound like another frustrated aviator wanna-be. Did you not get past primary flight training? Or did a pilot steal your girlfriend? There is soo much negativity placed on this forum. Maybe on Lawyer/ Doctor/ Accountant, etc sites, there are the same whinners posting too! Grow up please!!

Actually, CAL is a better product than Frontier. Frontier is being squeezed out of its last breath in DEN. UA and WN have boosted its departures in DEN and have plenty of cash to get rid of Frontier. Frontier is just another Independence and see ya later in 2 more years.

OSHA is not apllied to flight crews; OSHA does not know what to do with high pitch jet noise, altitude radiation, off-gasing from flame retardation in aircraft interiors...etc
