There is not a chance in hell that this little airline will survive....WN did a great job of driving them out of business and WN management should be proud of killing a great little airline.

I just read the complete story about Frontier and need to say that someone has their head in the sand. The loss of Frontier will not be a "drastic" loss for DIA. With a connection and local O & D in the low 20% range, they will hardly be missed. United and Southwest have so many aircraft they will fill the void in a matter of weeks.
The basic fact is that WN came in and put Frontier out of business with high frequency and money losing fares, which I don't feel is lawful.
F9 had a great product but just never got big enough to be a major player in Denver before WN showed up. WN made it clear that they had "big plans" for DIA so why is it such a surprise that tiny Frontier could not compete - both in fares and frequency. Back in my past airline days I remember when the old Frontier, Continental and United operated a hub in Denver and look what happened. Frontier went down the tubes and Continental closed the hub.
The basic rule is that only one ailrine should be huge in a hub. Delta pulled out of DFW for that reason. United and American are fighting each other in Chicago and have created one of the most congested airports in the world and fly side by side to the same cities at the same time. American needs to get out of that market. With the merged DL and NW, I don't think little Air Tran will survive in Atlanta - the worlds largest hub. As I stated in the DL/NW story, the four airlines who will survive are American, Delta, Southwest and United. The rest, including Alaska, Air Tran, Frontier, Hawaiian and JetBlue will not survive against these mega carriers. Many regional airlines will also not survive since the 50 seat regional aircraft cannot produce a profit with oil at a $110+. The airline industry in the U. S. is looking very bleak right now and I don't see that changing soon.$50.00 oil again is a pipe dream!
