Well, could this be the begining of 'you get what you pay for" outsourcing? Don't worry, insurance will more than cover the loss of lives due to faulty maintainance and pay for a replacement plane to boot!

"Contrary to some suggestions, we did not miss an inspection. We conducted the required inspections but we inadvertently omitted a small area that ordinarily should have been specifically inspected," Kelly said......What? isnt that missing the inspections.

Look you guys.... Planes fly regardless of the lack of maintenance, they will fly if the paperworks says OK to fly. Just sign off the damn logbook and go to lunch (quote from NWA mechs handbook)

I'm surprised America West isn't mentioned here; I've been on two planes that obviously needed work; one excessively noisy engine resulted in a plane change after landing. I don't fly with them anymore.

why wouldn't you fly them again Jim .sounds like compressor stalls . that happens on jet engines some times. there machines they will break that's why most systems on a airplane have back up systems.they gave you a good aircraft so they could fix the one that broke . American west did what they were supposed to. so what's your problem Jim.

Well heck, at the rate we are going in the US airline industry... there will be only 4 Airline to oversee.

Should simplify the FAA's workload at least!

WN, AA, DL accordingly are the airlines the FAA seems to be focusing upon.

UA is the wild card though. I wonder if the FAA is trying to tell us something I might add.(;
