Advertising and marketing firm WPP acquires Vancouver-based Blast Radius

“We were a very large independent agency, but the budgets were growing, our clients were spending more and more on interactive and they needed more and more robust integrated solutions.”

- Advertising and marketing firm WPP signed a deal Wednesday to acquire Vancouver-based Blast Radius in a bid to expand its digital marketing business.

Financial terms of the deal were not released. Gurval Caer, president and chief executive of Blast Radius, a specialist in interactive marketing, said the deal will allow his firm to tap into the global power of WPP, one of the world's largest communications and marketing firms.

"Partnering with a company that has been doing this for 30 or 40 years, that has the relationships, that has the credibility, is going to help us a lot in bringing those interactive ideas to the highest level in our clients," said Caer, 37, who will remain with the firm. Read more
