FYI: The Wall Street bailout bill included $7.5 billion for auto maker financing co-operatives (GMAC, Ford finance etc, etc) to stay in business. It seems that the Detroit braintrust, besides making most of the least fuel-efficient vehicles on the planet are now having these dinosaur vehicles repo'd in major league #'s so that thier financial credit op's are in serious doo-doo along with the housing mortgage sector. Any other extremely incompetent industrial giants that WE, the U.S. taxpayer can save from the junk heap? I don't know if it's possible, but I am sure we will be hearing of more incredible mismanagement scenarios in the next 8 - 12 months. Hang onto your pocket books if you can avg. Joe taxpayer!

How long have we the taxpayers been bailing out the auto industry? This isn't the first time and won't be the last. You are right about Detroit being out of touch with the reality we need fuel efficient vehicles. Can't wait for those GD SUVs to get off the road!
