Wizards struggle from the field in loss to Suns
The Washington Wizards couldn't find the basket this afternoon and fell 102-90 to the visiting Phoenix Suns.
The Injury Bug Bites Early For The Washington Wizards
Coming into the 2009-2010 season, it was said that the success of the Washington Wizards would be dependent on depth and the health of their key players.
Dressed in bow-ties, aprons and chef hats, the Washington Wizards Caron Butler , Brendan Haywood , Andray Blatche , Dominic McGuire , Mike James , JaVale McGee and Javaris Crittenton were hardly in their usual setting.
Lost in the euphoria of the Wizards' surprising 102-91 road win over the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday was that Flip Saunders appears to have settled on a rotation -- and that doesn't bode well for youngsters and summer league superstars Nick Young and JaVale McGee.
The Wizards Constantly Thank Dallas For Their Generosity
At the end of the 2003-2004 season, the Wizards traded two aging players and a first round pick to the Dallas Mavericks for a player who was just entering the prime of his career.
Wizards start season with tough 15 games
The Wizards got out of practice later than usual on Sunday, with the team making its final preparations for the regular season debut Tuesday in Dallas.
Gilbert Arenas and Mike Miller are not with the team. The two felt better on Tuesday and both flew back to Washington from Atlanta in the afternoon.
There's no narrative to a game that doesn't count. Hence, bullets... Mike Woodson on the fight for the 13th and final roster spot: "It could be a big guy.
GREEN & GLOVER: They aim to please
We spotted star players from the Washington Wizards yesterday at Morton's Steakhouse, where they had traded in their jerseys and sneakers for white chef aprons.
Washington Wizards 2009 Season Preview
The fate of the Washington Wizards rests on the health of oft-injured All-Star point guard Gilbert Arenas.
Wizards 90, 76ers 89; Jamison Lifting Weights
Wasn't that one fun? That had to be one of the most ridiculously hilarious endings that I've seen in some time, as the Wizards beat Eddie Jordan and his 76ers in his new digs.
When the Washington Wizards were in training camp in the first week of October, new coach Flip Saunders praised his players' intensity and effectiveness and said they were making it hard for him to settle on his eight- to nine-man rotation.
2009-10 Washington Wizards Preview
Bad luck followed the Wizards to the offseason and the lottery where the team had a 17.6 percent chance to get the No.
Backup role a struggle for Wizards' McGuire
Dominic McGuire knew things would be different this season. With the Washington Wizards' roster decimated by injuries last year, he used his versatility and defensive focus to work his way into the starting lineup for 57 games - gaining valuable experience for his development.

If fans at the AC/DC concert at Verizon Center on Friday night happened to see a 6-foot-10 guy bobbing his head with his long hair flailing and taking pictures with his camera phone, there was no need to wonder. It was Fabricio Oberto, the Washington Wizards' resident rock music fan, part-time electric guitar player and full-time team player.
While most of his teammates get pumped up before games with the sounds of Jay-Z or Lil Wayne, Oberto would rather listen to Pearl Jam, Metallica, U2 or AC/DC, a band he referred to as 'icons in the history of rock and roll.' The Argentine picked up playing the electric guitar about six years ago. He said he practices between 30 minutes to an hour a day at home.

Jamison Will Miss Rest of Preseason
As Antawn Jamison walked out of Quicken Loans Arena on Wednesday night, he looked down at the navy blue protective sleeve that secured his right arm and joked about how well it complemented his powder blue sweater and jeans.
'It's almost like I planned it, huh,' said Jamison, showing a sense of humor only two hours after suffering an injury that left his arm numb and caused a momentary loss of sensation in his fingers.
An MRI exam on Thursday revealed that Jamison has a subluxation of his right shoulder -- which implies a partial dislocation -- and it will sideline him for at least the rest of the preseason. In a statement from the team, Washington Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld announced that Jamison would be reevaluated next week after the swelling subsides.
Day 6, Flip, The Pollins & Young's Comedy Act
Coach Flip Saunders didn't bring any footballs or hypnotists to practice on Sunday, but his players have been marveling over the unique ways in which Saunders has attempted to convey his message this week.
On the second day of training camp, players again echoed Antawn Jamison's sentiment that the new iPod Touches that Flip Saunders gave them before camp were awesome.
