Well I see laziness is a common attribute amongst DT reporters. The Lopez's are most definitely not the first father-son combo to play in the World Series. I doubt you did much research into this subject because anyone involved with the CMWS would have given you the most obvious father-son combo, particularly for this area: Mike (67, 68) and Matt Dimond (94). Other, less obvious father-son combos, would include, Steve (68, 69) and Levi Groomer (95, 96), Phil (67, 68) and Farhon Smith (94, 95), and Billy (77) and Tyson Williamson (98, 99).

If representatives of the host team aren't good enough for the DT to recognize, Mike Sr.(1970 Dallas, Tx) and Mike Bacsik Jr (1995 Dallas, Tx) both won National Championships. Coincidentally, I recall the DT doing an article on the Bacsiks during the 1995 World Series.

If memory serves, I believe Buddy Bell played in the World Series and I know two of his sons did, Mike and David (both with Midland).

These are just the father-son combos off the top of my head. Maybe a little effort and you would find several more father-son combos. I would do the research, but alas, it's not my job.

Stay true and keep pounding, huh?
