Draft Picks, Schmaft Picks: Why the Giants Were Right Not Offer Arbitration to Bengie Molina
Nothing like a piece of actual, honest-to-Bonds news to get folks riled up. Bengie Molina was not offered arbitration yesterday, so the Giants will not receive any draft pick consideration when another team signs him.
This picture has nothing to do with this post, but it showed up in my AP photo feed.
Post-season victories for both Connecticut and San Jose included these individual highlights on the Giants ' farm: Ari Ronick had 5.1 scoreless IP; Paul Oseguera allowed just 1 R in 6.0 IP; Brock Bond reached base four times; Mike McBryde had three hits; and Johnny Monell homered while collecting two hits in the same inning.

Minor League Update: July 21 by Kevin Goldstein
Monday's stats: 3-for-5, 2B, RBI , K With a .326/.428/.540 batting line at High-A San Jose, Posey was clearly ready for a new challenge for some time, and a two-level jump occurred as the Giants wanted to leave defensive specialist Jackson Williams at Double-A to work on his offense.
Highlights from the Giants ' farm include two pitching performance along with a host of good hitting lines as each of the Giants four full-season affiliates scored at least seven runs.
Highlights from the Giants ' farm: Joe Martinez had 6.0 scoreless IP in his fifth rehab appearance; Brock Bond and Thomas Neal both reached base four times; and Buster Posey and Conor Gillaspie each homered while having three hits.
Once again, the highlights from the Giants ' farm seem to be taking a holiday, but I'll mention these three: Brett Pill homered and doubled; Bustery Posey had two hits, including a double, while playing his first game behind the plate in over a week; and Rafael Rodriguez reached base three times while having his first multi-hit game.
Felmy's hit lifts Defenders to sweep of Senators
Norwich - Bobby Felmy's two-out single in the eighth inning scored Brandon Crawford to give the Connecticut Defenders a 2-1 victory over the Harrisburg Senators Thursday night and a sweep of their Eastern League doubleheader at Dodd Stadium.

As the Giants work to sign this year's top draft pick, high school pitcher Zach Wheeler, last year's first-rounder might be making a big move soon.
Hitting highlights: Ben Copeland homered while reaching base three times; Thomas Neal also homered while reaching base three times; Josh Mazzola was a third Giant to homer while reaching base three time; and Conor Gillaspie had three hits plus a walk.
Highlights: Tim Alderson makes his fourth start in the upper minors; John Bowker reaches base twice in both games of a doubleheader; Adam Witter has his 4th HR; Paul Oseguera has 10 K in his second start of the year, albeit against younger competition.
The highlights today come mostly from the lower minors, with one highlight from the upper minors coming from a prospect often maligned by commenters on this site.
