One night earlier Nick Blackburn expressed relief that the Twins had escaped Chicago's hot-hitting lineup, saying that this series in Cleveland felt "normal." In the baseball world, where superstitions reign, ...

the manager is not at fault here. he has done well in the past with reasonable people. the problem is hernandez , lamb, everett are definitely not contributing. there are others who are at a minimum question marks who most likely also won't contribute. many of us lobbied hard for the new stadium. the front office NEEDS to thank that effort by bringing in quality free agents or making sensible trades which will help at the time not after someone develops in the minors three years later. if they don't do that no field manager will succeed here

The manager is at fault here. The Twins get behind and pack it in. Manager's job is to motivate and Gardy ain't motivating. Same lame excuses every game; "We just gotta keep pluggin away, ran into a hot pitcher, blah blah blah!" He has no fire in the belly. Time to move on and get someone in here to crack the whip on these overpaid underachievers.

I previously wrote that this team reminds me of '87. Well, it did until the last two weeks. The Twins have made so many mistakes and were completely outplayed. This is NOT Twins baseball.
It's still a long season, but if this continues, I'll take my crow medium rare, some Country Bob's sauce, and a side of slaw. |

Could this be what we're going to experience the last 4 months of the season? It's getting ugly with really no end in site.

I think Gardy's time has come and gone. I'm not sure who to replace him with, but this team needs a shot in the arm and you know the old phrase "it's easier to fire one coach than to replace 25 players."

He's just making the GM observe some of his handywork. Gardy's has a minority vote when it comes to trading personnel and budget considerations. The Delmon Young disaster is all on Smith. Funny, the stadium gets approved before the team salary is slashed. Smith is the bank security guard. |

I said long ago - Send Lamb to MARS! Let Everett co pilot. So Long Livan - get your cheeseburgers somewhere else! This team needs some stability - Buschere at third - Punto at short, let the kid play at second - he looks pretty good after last year, and tell Delmon to listen to Vavra. Start Baker, Blackburn, Perkins, Slowey, and maybe give Guerrier a start, until Lirano gets it figured out. PLAy DEFENSE!!!! Cut out the stupid baserunning, or ride the pines for a while. GO TWINS!

Come on all you whoopdee doo idiots who thought the Twins would play .500 ball this season, where are you morons now? I've been saying they were going to suck this year and all I've heard is that I know nothing about baseball. LOLOLOL As someone who has watched since 1964, I figure I've seen more games than most of you posters have days on this earth. They suck and they are going to suck for quite a while. If you think Pohlad is going to spend his money on players when the stadium opens think again. He will first make as much money as he can to make up for his losses in the 90's. He is a skinflint and the buck stops with him.

Hey Pioneer Press Nazi's when did the word suckk bocome offensive?

I will bite torri, I am probably older than you. They can play 500 ball, but as I pointed out, they have too many non system guys this year. If the carpetbaggers (smiths deals) don't pan out, die with twins and Twin system players. The organization is respected due to that system. Let the young guys take their lumps and jell as a unit under fire...like the Hrbek, Brunansky, & Gaetti bunch did..Livan is no better a deal than Ramon Ortiz and Ponson were last year. He has a winning record but an ERA that is Bonseresque..Let the wily old hand Baker lead this merry band and see what happens. |
