MLB Power Rankings: Where All 30 Teams Stand with 2 Weeks Remaining

There are just two weeks remaining in the 2014 MLB regular season, and this year's playoff race is shaping up to be one of the best in recent memory. A handful of teams have started to separate themselves from the pack, but three division races are still very much up for grabs, and the same can be said for three of the four wild-card spots.

Braves fall 10-3 to Rangers, swept in series

Colby Lewis pitched seven innings for his 10th victory, Luis Sardinas doubled his career total with four RBIs and the Texas Rangers completed their first series sweep in nearly five months with a 10-3 win Sunday over the playoff-chasing Atlanta Braves. After being swept in three games to complete a 2-7 trip, the Braves were four games behind Pittsburgh for the National League's second wild card with 13 games left in the regular season.

Rangers win as Professor Holland limits damage

Every young Texas Rangers pitcher who aspires to be a member of a major league rotation needed to be on the top step of the dugout watching Derek Holland on Friday night. Holland has had better games during his career, and an argument can be made that his start Sunday was better.

Texas Rangers rumors: Colby Lewis took the loss in last night's ugly 9-3 defeat at the hands of the Angels, but the bullpen's 8th inning meltdown shouldn't overshadow the fact that Lewis once again pitched quite well. Throwing 91 pitches and going 7+ innings, Lewis's final line was 5 hits allowed, 3 runs , 4 Ks, 0 walks and a home run.

Rangers notes: 13-year farmhand finally gets call

Frisco had just been eliminated in the Texas League playoffs on Saturday night when manager Jason Wood called Guilder Rodriguez into his office. Wood told Rodriguez, a 13-year veteran of the minor leagues, including six years in the Texas Rangers' organization, that he could either head home to Venezuela and prepare for 2015 in the off-season or gather his belongings and prepare to play the next day.
