Not that the Tigers have any immediate openings at first base, but big, powerful batters who can hit home runs and hit for a decent average generally find their way into a team's lineup.

If it were just another rung up the minor league ladder, the Tigers would soft-pedal the prospects who hit and pitch their way to big seasons at Double-A Erie.
