What in GODS NAME would make you think it was OK for you to bring a GUN to SCHOOL?

1 I agree, guns in that environment are a social relic. |

Baltimore is one of the most violent places -- you almost never hear good news coming out of the place. It's a shame, it's a nice city but the people are whack.

How can you invoke Jesus' name in such an ugly message. I'm not even Christian and I'm offended. We will NOT leave Baltimore alone until its Charm is restored. My sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws still live in Baltimore and I care about what happens to our City. You deserve to live in a safe, quiet, clean neighborhood. Your children deserve to be safe at home, in school, in the parks, and on the streets. Your children deserve a great education and your elderly deserve safety, companionship and sustenance. Your poor deserves adequate housing and food. Your addicts deserve treatment. Your institutionalized men and women deserve mercy. No, we will not leave Baltimore alone. Baltimore is too historic for this nation to allow it to continue to degenerate. America -- Let's pick on Baltimore until they get their act together! |

Whoa. I attended Coldstream Park elementary school when it first opened. I am not happy at all to read about this, but not surprised. My sixth grade gradution was delayed (early 70's) because one sixth grader stabbed another sixth grader over a girl. Looks like the weapons are the only thing that improved.

I think it's a damn shame that guns are being brought to school by our young children. The child's parent[s] should be whipped and the child should be removed from the home. Because if it was that easy for this child to get his hands on an unloaded gun the first time and no one got hurt, think how much worse it would have been if the gun had been loaded and the child accidently shot someone or himself. We need to have tighter security in our schools, beginning with checking each backpack and locker of every child. We can't keep losing our children to gun violence because of poor security in the schools.

We keep blaming the parents over and over again, as we should! But WHERE ARE THEY. In fact they aren't there at all. Unfortunately most of their parents have bolted or locked up. If they were there to begin with this possibly could of been avoided.
I say if they are raised by an aunt or grandparent or whoever, that they be held accountable just as much as the child. |
Did you answer the call to volunteer in the schools, or did you do nothing? Just as I suspected... How is telling the truth and exposing corruption talking SHIT? Perhaps if you would publicly condemn your leaders for their repeated failures, Baltimore will start to change for the better. The City certainly has been declining long enough, don't you think? Heck, even the Orioles and Ravens suck. |

I will excuse you because you are a minor. Considering that I attended the school in question, what is the likelihood that I never set foot in Baltimore. Given that we own houses in Baltimore, we have every right to chastise the place. If you had bothered to read all my posts you could have made an informed response. I don't live in Los Angeles, I live in Orange County. You don't need to be 18 to know how to read a map. How many California cities have you visited? I have lived in five and all of them were better than Baltimore. What are you basing your comments on? My sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, grand nieces and grand nephews live in Baltimore. My husband's family lives there. I want Baltimore to be a safe, pleasant place to live for them because I can't convince them to leave the place. How is the government mismanaging your resources? How much in taxes do you personally pay? Do you think the taxes you pay cover the cost of the services you use, such as roads, schools, emergency services, etc? You are not too young to volunteer. There are kids as young as six making a difference in the world. We have an annual celebration in our town for these kids and your town probably does as well. My 15 yr old niece has been planting trees over Baltimore for years. You don't need to be an adult to change things. You don't even need permission. What you do need is the courage to confront wrong or injustice and the conviction to make a difference. If you need someplace to start, go to your community center or look in the paper. They usually have a call for volunteers. You can even go online to find volunteer opportunities in your area. I hope you live a long and prosperous life. You can become as great as the ocean or as small as the pebble, but it is your choice. Don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise. You can make excuses or you can make a way. In the immortal words of Mother Teresa "It is not how much we do, but how much love we put into the action we do." Go do something with love and then judge me. |
