October Auto Sales: Industry celebrates a tiny change from a dismal 2008

Flat is the new up. In a year that has only seen year-over-year sales increases thanks to the U.S. government's cash-for-clunkers program, executives across Detroit on Tuesday celebrated October industry sales that were, effectively, flat compared with the same month a year ago.
