And GM, Ford, Chrysler, etc... wonder why Toyota has the highest customer loyalty in the industry.

Exactly. Ownership Experience!
GM, Ford, et. al - remember this and other like moves by such manufacturers. This is what breeds customer loyalty. The feeling that a manufacturer will take care of a problem they don't have to, without the customer having to jump through flaming hoops!

If the vehicle was built right, the frames wouldn't rot out!!!

Richard Leavens wrote: If the vehicle was built right, the frames wouldn't rot out!!! and that's the point. The vehicles are old, out of warranty and Toyota could easily pull a GM and tell the owners to go pound sand. Instead, they are offering a really good deal, to get them back into a newer vehicle. That's a win for the people who would have gotten screwed and it's a win for Toyota. Smart thinking, if you ask me.

I love this country, but I also love Toyota. I have a Toyota Camry and it is a great car even after ten years. Mistakes happen like what happened when the frames were not treated properly in Ohio. So what? Toyota will make the problem right when they really didn't have to. What's the problem? I doubt that they will sue the Ohio Company. Even if they do they will probably be back in business with the Ohio Company someday. That's business.

As always, Toyota is doing the right thing. It's unfortunate that if this was a problem with a vehicle from a traditional american manufacturer, there would be no help coming for these people that owned these trucks
