GM Hybrid Pickups May be Last Run for Canadian Factory

Even with its closure slated for 2009, GM's Oshawa, Ontario, assembly plant will begin production of the 2009 GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado hybrid pickup trucks later this year.

GM would have had to delay the launch had they moved production of the hybrid to Mexico. Oshawa has been working on the prototype; a new plant would have to start from scratch.

mexico has been building hybrids/flex fuels for the south american market for years,because of the rainforests
