Feds haul 63 boxes from Washington Park Village Hall

Ten federal agents on Wednesday carted 63 boxes of village records plus a basket and briefcases from the annex to the Washington Park Village Hall.
Six or seven cars carrying the agents pulled up to the village hall at 10 a.m. Wednesday, closing the village hall and its next-door annex. Mayor John Thornton said the village hall at 5218 N. Park Drive would remain closed until 9 a.m. Thursday.
Agents from the FBI, IRS and U.S. Treasury Department carried out 63 boxes on a hand truck and loaded them into a pickup truck and Ford Explorer. They also removed lose file folders, books and three brief cases before leaving at 3:34 p.m. Read more
