Cadillac is jumping on General Motors' own electric car bandwagon. According to a report in the Detroit News, the company has green lighted the battery-powered Converj coupe, first shown at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show.

Once in a while, the sport-wagon version of a great-looking sedan looks even better.

The stands were a bit smaller, and there were fewer cars, but SEMA 2009 was a better show than anyone thought it might be twelve months ago.

GM's Bob Lutz offered to race a CTS-V against anyone with a production sedan and he found several takers.

General Motors ' septuagenarian marketing chief, Bob Lutz , will race a handful of high-priced, high-performance rivals at a New York track Thursday to put a fine point on GM's new slogan, "May the best car win." Lutz will pilot a Cadillac CTS-V with a 6.2-liter, supercharged V-8 rated 556 horsepower.

For a handful of car enthusiasts, automotive writers and a GM vice chairman, "May the best car win" is more than just an advertising slogan for the Detroit carmaker.

Bob Lutz swore the Cadillac CTS-V is the fastest four-door production sedan on the planet.

The 1959 Eldorado was one of the classics that defined Cadillac. When General Motors' top executives were choosing this year which brands to keep and which to ditch, Cadillac was unquestionably deemed a valuable asset that should be part of the new GM.
