A Toyota interior would make a much nicer coffin than a plasticky GM interior cockpit!

Fact - more people have died in GM vehicles than all other import vehicles combined.

This is just the beginning of a long PR nightmare for this company.

Recalls, rust, engine sludge, failed tailgates, frozen brakes, toxic seat belts and that's just a few of Toyota's issues, the list keeps going. Not to mention the infamous "white plastic zip ties." The beat down continues...

By far,(over 99 %), the most prominent causes of death and injury with automobiles are (1)Excessive speed; (2) Alcohol and drugs; and (3) Driver distraction (cell phones, eating, beverages, not paying attention to driving, etc)
In my opinion, those issues are the ones society should be giving attention to---not the title and discussion for this post which is merely a frivolous and irresponsible ploy to garner attention for an issue which isn't even on the radar.

The article upon which this topic is based upon is nothing but a flagrant solicitation for business by a law firm which specializes in tort litigation.
It's the law firm partner's blog, and it contains only allegations, inferences, and innuendo.
Basically alarmist hype.

There is no PR nightmare for Toyota. All press for Toyota is good press. As they recall vehicles and fix them, they get free advertising for the brand and confidence from consumers that Toyota "does the right thing" when something is wrong, versus the "sweep it under the rug" mentality of the Detroit automakers.

Toyota will finish 2009 with at least a 0.2% increase in market share. In 2010, they'll build upon that momentum as millions of consumers brag to their neighbor about how Toyota took care of them proactively.

Funny you should mention it....
I considered saying that, because the referenced blog comes close to being libel.
However, if you look the article over there's a disclaimer which, I'm sure is there only to shield the author and the law firm he owns from such a charge.
Either way, to qualify this particular thread and its title as anything other than frivolous, irresponsible, and manipulative hyperbole is clearly foolish.
