USA's GM Beats Expectations

Full story: detnews.com

General Motors Co. might be able to repay $6.7 billion in federal aid by next summer, five years earlier than expected, because the automaker's worst pre-bankruptcy financial fears never materialized.

Here you go. Rather than straight talk, I'm sure we'll get more spin. But hey, taking the high road always trumps.

I know you’re a Toyota apologist but come on. Why even post on the thread if you’re only going to bring adolescent one liners? Geez-

Stop posting speculative articles. History has proven the article wrong.

Fact, they came out of BR and have posted results that beat expectations. That’s just good news.

Our expectations have been tempered over time, that's the sad thing. Who would ever dream that GM posting a $1.2 Billion loss would beat expectations? Scary stuff.

Who would have ever dreamed we’d have a negro president prancing around Asia and saying “I’m sorry?”

I don’t understand why anyone would be pro Japanese and so anti American. In other nations they support their own it's sad Americans don’t do the same.

What I don't understand is that why the poster is so joyous over the title of this article. "GM's $1.15B loss beats post-bankruptcy expectations." Since when is losing money something to be proud of??? It's convenient that GM went into BR otherwise it would have been lights out for GM. At least they have decent products in the pipeline. They have their Malibu knock-off the Cruze coming out and their Buick Regal sport sedan wannabe fitted with anemic engine coming out also. More GM crap. I'd rather buy a Ford. Wow! Never thought I'd say that.
whatever

It's not about being pro-Japanese and anti-American. It's about telling the truth as it stands. Some people on these forums refuse to tell the truth. They distort the facts and figures. They spin the story and say that anyone who doesn't buy American is a liberal and hates America. That kind of statement shows the lack of education and ignorance that is growing in this country. I served honorably from 1992-2000 (with a tour in Bosnia) and of the four cars I've owned, 2 were Chevy's and two were Pontiac's and I have a bachelor's degree. But I absolutely refuse to be fed horse manure from people who when confronted with facts can only respond by saying if I don't agree with them then I must be a liberal and anti-American. That's a good argument if we were all in 2nd grade.

I agree completely with your analogy of what's going on here.
Blatant and hopelessly biased misrepresentation (often malicious innuendo bordering on libel), rude and crude insults by obviously very ignorant (or hopelessly intolerant) individuals, certainly demonstrates a trend toward deteriorating moral and ethical standards.
As you note, truth is a rare commodity in these forums.
Experience here has taught me that if one has something truthful to say, or can show a truthful and factual rebuttal to an untruth, then simply speak one's piece and then let the chips fall where they may.
I flat refuse to be drawn into any more prolonged pissing matches with those who are less than forthright in their participation here.
You might want to consider doing the same.

Only one person on these threads say “liberal anti-American.” You make it sound like everybody that disagrees with you slams that line out. Not true-

Thank you for your service. I found myself smack in the middle of Dessert Shield a few years prior.

Oh please, you have no room to talk. Some of the things you’ve posted here are absolutely just as ridiculous as everyone anybody else.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Virgo

Mercury is turning retrograde at just the right time, because it's telling you to consider the validity of your long-term aims and aspirations. If they stand about as much chance of seeing the light of day as you do of winning the Lottery, then you need to streamline them or even abandon them and start again. So think about what you want from life and how you're going to get it. Children and romance may be quite erratic during this phase.
