Toyota CEO Lentz:
“We knew in the very beginning we had a transmission issue with that vehicle.”
Oct 9, 2008
Oriental Japanese Toyoda is downgraded again. Bad transmissions are still a problem.

1 Well, I'm not auto expert, but GM and Chrysler are back to the same problematic issue----American cars. Half the public or more prefer foreign vehicles. To me, this doesn't solve or end the problem. If people wanted GM or Chrysler cars, they would be selling like hotcakes already. Not the issue. This is a good time for Ford to join forces with a foreign car maker, like Toyota or Kia, Honda. Ford needs a foreign car company component in it's waters, to shore up those foreign car buyers. The world is global, and some people on the other side of the planet will only buy foreign. GM is still a dinasaur in its' mentality. Arrogance will not carry the day for that company, and neither will Chrysler. We are in different times. |

1 If youre talking about the Chrysler-GM merger, product would probably not be affected. The dealers and brands would still be seperate, the only reason for the merger would me money. They would trim management costs, and then separate again when and if times get better. |

1 Its not dead weight. If they merged management and other costs it would make financial sense. One huge company is easier to handle, thats why the world is being taken over by big corporations. |
