Of course it is. It's the way of nature. The MP3 Revolution was inevitable. The fact that art would become a multi-billion dollar industry is an upset of the balance of nature. Artists were never meant to become wealthy. They were professionals, like architects, blacksmiths, and weavers. For the past 70 -80 years, the artists and the record companies have been enjoying the bounties of nature's fluke. The power of mass distribution or media was wielded only by the corporate elite. Artists have risen, not because of their talents, but lately because of their marketing agents. Now, the people have free access to what they want to hear and none of the "filler" that they don't. Since nobody's put out anything worth listening to in such a long time, and because it's so easy to publish one's own music on the Internet, there's a flood of starving artists who will have to sharpen their competitive edges to give the masses what they want and not what they're told they want by the ones who stand to gain from you buying a CD for $18.
