'Ageing mines' to spark resurgence in WA's engineering industry: Deloitte
The 'catastrophic fall' in Western Australia's engineering construction activity appears to be levelling off with the need to replace ageing mines likely to return the industry to growth by mid-2020. Deloitte's Business Outlook Report for the September quarter, released on Tuesday, revealed WA's engineering and commercial construction sector, which shrunk by 9.4 per cent in 2017-18, is expected to gain an additional $2.3 billion in annual investment by 2022-23.
