If anyone is not holding up their end of the bargain it is parents who send their children to school unprepared to learn, with zero work ethic, don't support any discipline measures the schools try to initiate, and then blame the teachers and administrators when their children don't succeed or even behave. I have taught in both private and public schools and the same is true in both places. The only reason you don't hear stories of private schools "cheating" is because they are not held accountable for federal money. Charter schools seem to be the rage, but wait until they start being held to the same absurd standards traditional public schools face. They will "teach to the test" like everyone else.
