The Educational Foundation for Children's Care Inc dinner, held annually to raise much-needed funds for children at the Alta Vista Children's Village in Four Paths, Clarendon, has been rescheduled for next month at The Knutsford Court Hotel in St Andrew. The dinner, originally slated for October 2, was pushed back due to the threat from Hurricane Matthew and will now take place on Sunday, November 23, at 4 p.m. Chin, who was born in Buff Bay, Portland, has more that 20 years of health-care experience in building companies, managing funds and practising as a board-certified orthopaedic and spine surgeon.

The mother of three, who was the first witness to take the stand yesterday in the Home Circuit Court, where businessman Patrick Powell is on trial in the shooting death of 17-year-old Khajeel in Havendale, St Andrew in 2011, said that she saw doctors and nurses around her son in the emergency department at Kingston Public Hospital on the night of July 1.
