Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue officers are dealing with a fire at Lincoln County Hospital with a number of patients evacuated. The blaze started just after 3pm on Monday, October 24 in a ward control room on Navenby Ward in the main building of the hospital on Greetwell Road.
Finalists have been announced for the NK Community Champion Awards 2016, honouring members of the community for their outstanding voluntary work. This year there are 26 individuals, teams, businesses or groups recognised for the difference they make in the North Kesteven district.
A by-election is to be held within the Cliff Villages ward of North Kesteven District Council following the resignation of Councillor Laura Conway. Councillor Conway, a Lincolnshire Independent, won the seat in 2011 and has stepped down due to work commitments on Tuesday, August 30. She said that it had been a "great pleasure" to serve the people of her community over the past five years.
Pupils from Sir William Robertson Academy, Welbourn, are delighted with their GCSE success with many gaining A* across several subjects. Matthew Young from Newark is celebrating his record fifteen GCSEs with 9 A*s and 3 A's including an A* in Japanese, French and German! Fifty-four per cent of students gained 5 A*-C including English and Maths which matched the school's outstanding results from last year with 75 per cent gaining 5 GCSEs A*-C.
