STUDENTS who had spent many hours rehearsing for a musical comedy at the old Beaconside college in Stafford may have expected an end-of -show party when they left the stage at their last performance. They had been taking part in a 1970 production of Sandy Wilson's The Boy Friend at the North Staffordshire Polytechnic under the guidance of producer Tony Thorndike, a law lecturer at the college.
The role they play in rural Wales, for whatever purpiose, is explored in the second series of S4C's Ceffylau Cymru , fronted by horse breeder David Oliver and newcomer Nia Marshalsay-Thomas, a professional model. During the series they be taking a look at the renowned Derwen Stud Cobs, delving into the history of the Eyarth Stud near Corwen and hearing about the success of breeders Ron and Debbie Thomas from Llanddarog.
