Camborne and Redruth Lions Club will be brightening up local Christmas celebrations again this year as they deliver food parcels over the festive period. Club members stood at their stall in the supermarket taking donations to help make up the parcels so that those who need them will have the Christmas they deserve.
Following a merger of Keltek Brewery and Wine in Cornwall last year, the two businesses are opening their first retail store on the Cardrew Industrial Estate in Redruth. The Cornwall Beer & Wine Centre is located at the Scorrier end of Cardrew Way in Redruth.
A NEWSPAPER delivery driver whose van suddenly veered across the road into the path of a 38-tonne articulated lorry had little recollection of it, and could only think he had nodded off, his solicitor told Truro magistrates. Darren King, 38, of Polwheal Road, Tolvaddon, Camborne, had to be cut free from the van and was flown to Derriford Hospital with a badly broken leg and shoulder.

The Camborne Redruth & District Lions Club has recently joint funded one new defibrillator for each town, having already helped install two previous units. Camborne's newest device is situated in the entrance to the indoor market at the top of Trelowarren Street, opposite Centenary Chapel, and has been jointly funded by the Lions Club and Camborne Chamber of Commerce.
