A leader of ISIS' affiliate in Saudi Arabia was designated as a terrorist on Thursday, according to the State Department. Mubarak Mohammad A Alotaibi, a 31-year-old Saudi citizen, was added as a "Specially Designated Global Terrorist" , which imposes sanctions on foreigners determined to have committed, or to pose a significant risk of committing acts of terrorism that threaten the security of U.S. nationals, national security, foreign policy or the economy of the United States.
A workplace safety agency is investigating the death of a man hurt in an explosion while transferring fuel between hauling trucks at a northern Ohio business. The Sandusky Register reports 70-year-old Thomas Layton, of Sandusky, died Tuesday at a hospital after the explosion that morning.

Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson said Wednesday he expects to release a policy agenda within the next few months that delivers "bang for the buck," partly by encouraging more private-sector collaboration. In an interview with The Associated Press, Carson said he expects to advance public-private partnerships, extending low-income housing tax credits and providing more opportunities for public-housing residents to get jobs at the buildings where they live.
Members of the Sons of the American Legion Fifth District held their annual pizza and bingo party for the residents of the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky on Saturday. A total of 31 volunteers, including Sons, American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary members, along with their relatives and friends, made the trip to OVH from the 10 counties in the Fifth District to thank and honor the residents for their service.
A man has been accused of taking children in handcuffs to tour an Ohio county jail and courthouse while wearing a police uniform. The Akron Beacon Journal reports Christopher S. Hendon claimed he was part of a police program that gives kids prison tours to scare them off from committing crimes.

The government says two Ohio men have been arrested on allegations of killing two women to keep them from talking to police about drug activity and a severe assault. Federal prosecutors say Antwan Hutchinson and Michael Favors killed the women Feb. 23 because they were seen as potential witnesses against the pair.
A suburban Cincinnati man accused of having a 14-year-old girl brought to his home by taxi while he was on electronic monitoring, holding her captive for months and raping her has pleaded guilty to charges in county court as his federal case is pending. Twenty-one-year-old Cody Jackson pleaded guilty Tuesday to unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and interference with custody.
