Sir, this site was sent to me by a friend who went to school with me and graduated the same as I,PMHS class of 1954. I have not been to Point Marion since my mother died in 1974. When I saw these pictures, especially this first one, I couldn't figure out for a few minutes what I was looking at. I cannot believe the change in the downtown. I believe this photo is looking up Penn St. and Barneys theatre was on the right side and the barber shop my dad worked in for many years was in a building that has now disappeared. This is sad to see but also it brings back memories of a wonderful little town, and it was when I was growing up. Thank you for taking these pictures.

That is where the Barn Door was located. I think it was lost during the flood in the 80's.My Father had the bakery near the old theater. I was up there not too long ago. The town has had better days to say the least.

I remember when Point Marion was a great little town, I was born there, my Aunt Marge worked at the soda fountain in Hunkers drug store that is also gone now. I remember stores, resteraunts, the movie theater and a lot of friendly people, my how time has changed things, there are still friendly people but not much else, it's a damn shame that this happened to an American town like this.

Hi Joe, would your aunt Marge be the same Aunt Marge as sister to Michael Joseph Kovach ?
