Viewing this lovely picture of the Philippi Bridge sure made me more homesick than ever. I have been wanting to return home for many years. I have been trying to plan a long visit and it seems "SOMETHING" always interferes. This year it is work..drat it anyway!!
Thank you for posting some pictures of Philippi to remind me of how much I love Philippi, WV, my hometown.

Beautiful photos do remind us of our hometown but how Philippi has changed. Empty storefronts, empty houses and a dwindling population.

Both my self and my husband grew up in Philippi, and with that said we had to move away there was no jobs, and when we do come back to visit we can not believe how "run down" it looks empty store fronts and run down houses. But I must say that around the bridge is so pretty the way they have changed it. Just wish that you did not have to drive to Elkins or Clarksburg to work. Because we would still be there.

Drove through Philippi last weekend. Even the bridge is run down and dirty. A state landmark that was once a show piece looks like an old house that someone put siding on. City and County officials should demand that the state fix it up. The bridge should have been closed to traffic years ago. It needs preserved.
