WOW and I thought my boyfriend was just kidding.
He was telling me about a large snake on the loose.
I think it is pretty wild ( no pun intended). Excitement in Massena.....who would have guessed

When/where was the picture taken? Has nice markings. What kind is it? Do the babies look the same or are they from a different you know?

That's the pic of the little snake. This was taken on Marie Street just before it got away.

Is it a Mud Snake? Information on internet shows the babies have different markings from the adults. Perfectly harmless snakes. Down south in their natural habitats they are rarely seen since they prefer to be near water. One article did say " They can be seen out on rainy summer nights". They eat frogs, salamanders, etc... When picked up they won't bite or attack but poke you with the end of their tail. I have a question...Why didn't you just pick it up (unless at the time you weren't sure if it was poisonous)and put it in a pillowcase? They aren't slimy at all. Is this a picture of the actual snake or an example of the one you saw? If it's the real one is it the largest of them or the baby? How many altogether have you seen?
