My Grandfather trucked all that sand from Parishville to make the beach. I think it was 1957.

Try to go to that beach today. They will charge you 7 bucks to park, and on a 90 degree summer day they will kick your kids out of the water at 6 pm cause the life guards go off duty.
Did any of your grandfather's kids die cause no lifeguard was on duty? Did they swim in the St. Lawrence after 6 pm? Did the power authority tell your kids this area is no longer a public fishing area.
This is publicly owned land... shouldn't it be FREE and open to everyone?
It pisses me off your grand dad did all that work for a bureaucracy that denies access rights to the community it has most impacted.

sorry to say there is no charge for barnhart beach anymore and you sound like you'd be the first to sue the state if you got a fish hook in you while swimming or a person drowned because no lfieguard on duty. There are fishing areas that are free all over the island no need to fish at the beach!!!

No charge anymore? Ok maybe, but I still pay for it with my taxes. I wasn't talking about fishing at the beach anyway, I was talking about all the public access fishing areas the power authority now denies us access to. My parents and grand parents swam and fished at all those spots and were my life guards with no state certificate and all of us lived with out state mandated regulations. I wish I could sue YOU for promoting more regulation of public land that should be free.

I just made an informative comment. Why are you bringing this into a comment like that? Sounds like your either trying to get something started or disgruntled with your life.
