I posted the picture of the Christmas Village. My mother and I collected items to put into the Village.
We found so many things about Maggie to be unique. For a town its size it has a ski resort, shops, mountain vistas and streams. I remember Ghost Town from when we visited years ago and still enjoy it today. I hope it stays a part of Maggie because it is one of those places that cannot be replicated. Like Maggie, it is unique. Maggie has churches to visit and friendly people always ready to share a story and a smile.
We live in Wilson, NC but are up at our cabin in Maggie frequently.
It is, as we like to say,"As close to heaven as you can get with two feet on the ground."

Your village is very nice! And I'm sorry for the loss of your mother. That is difficult to overcome.

We have a place in Maggie Valley, too. And I spend all of my free time wiching I was there.

"wishing", not "wiching"

I spend my time wishing I were there too. Maggie and her mountains are really difficult to describe to someone who has never been there. Just a very special place.
Truely, I feel as if I can reach up and touch heaven.
Thank you. I was very blessed to
have had such a loving mother.
Loss is a part of life.
Special places and people in our lives is what makes life worth living.
Thank you again.

Guess I should have said,
"Special people and places are what make life worth living."
But, then again, in NC we don't really worry much about such things.
(Thank goodness.)
I always tell my friends,
"Maggie is as close to heaven as you can get with two feet on the ground."
(And I am serious)
Especially if you are
in Cataloochee early in the day just as the sun comes up over the Valley.

My husband and I like to flyfish.
Cataloochee is just beautiful.
