Just discussing the Buckhorn with my co-workers. My mom was a waitress there for several years when I was a small child. We would walk there from our home 3 blocks away and visit her during her shift. She would have us sit at the bar and give us a soda to sip on. The owner had a few head of buffalo out back in a corral. We were only allowed to go see them with an adult along since there were a couple ornery ones. They had the BEST "broasted" chicken. And BBQ ribs.
My dad taught me to bowl in their bowling alley and they had great pin ball machines out in the entryway. Great memories of that landmark.

The Buckhorn was my default Birthday Restaurant when I was a kid. It was the only place I've ever had frog legs and they were great. I loved the arcade games in the other room and the famed picture
of Custer's Last stand.

I remember going there when I was kid. They truly had a huge collection of guns. When the place burned down, Long Lake was not the same.

I recently found a menu from the Buckhorn. New York Cut Top Sirloin for two $1.85. Served with french fries, salad, toast, beverage and dessert. Hamms beer on tap for 10c. I wonder what year that was?
