Here children, set down, and let your "Uncle Blue" tell you all about it. Firstly, there is a middle class. But, they're better than we are now. You see, they work for the government. Whenever they come close to losing their jobs we have to take on more debt and pay more taxes so they can live better than we do.

It all started back in the 1913 when the American people made the mistake of electing a liberal president and both houses of congress.

There was this feller named Woodrow Wilson. A "straight up socialist". He decided to create this here banking thing called the fed. He gave these people nobody had ever even met complete control of all our money. 16 years later the stock market crashed and people lost everything they had and the Great Depression began.

These poor folks roamed the countryside sleeping on the ground and begging for food to feed themselves and their kids. This went on for about 10 years.

People like to say President Roosevelt, another "straight up socialist" saved us. But, that's not what really happened.

You see even after all the "New Deal" projects people were still as poor as a whippoorwill and the unemployment rate was around 15%.

In fairness there were some good things done in the Roosevelt administration. One piece of legislation in particular called the Glass Stegall Act.

Now, a year or so went by and things still weren't getting any better. But, whispers were growing louder and louder about a madman in Europe named Hitler.

Now, the socialists in France and England know that nothing will get an economy humming faster than a good war. So, became the beginning of WW2.

American had managed to stay out of the war until the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. So, Roosevelt declares war on Japan and 3 days later Germany declares war on the United States and the nightmare had begun for the entire world. Estimates were between 50 and 70 million people died. Some say as many as a 100 million. Including the extermination of 6 million Jews and ending with the explosions of the first Atomic Bombs over Japan.

Now, that was the end of WW2 and it didn't take long until we were in another war in Korea.

Shortly after WW2 the middle class was born. There were manufacturing jobs everywhere. People from all over America migrated to northern cities to work, live and raise their families. I bet someone in your family did exactly that.

Detroit hummed! We manufactured everything from children's wagons to space shuttles. Americans walked on the moon.

America was King!

Thanks to the strong manufacturing base in America after WW2 America had tax dollars to burn.

From the early 50's up through the 90's manufacturing in America was still King of the world. Vietnam was another American tragedy. But, America's economy remained unmatched.

But, all along the way, little by little things were being done by the federal government that were putting America on a path toward "Hard Times".

Something had been brewing for years, but the American people didn't see it coming.

The years from Bush Sr. through the Clinton presidency brought about changes that led us to where we are today.

All the dreams of a global economy and how America would lead the way was a political illusion.

Politicians through reckless trade deals from NAFTA to China's entry into the world trade organization. The repeal of the Glass Stegall Act that led to bank deregulation and ushered in the Super Banks... "To big to fail".

The very things that would have prevented another financial collapse like the great depression were undermined and gutted.

And, now children we don't have our reliable manufacturing base to fall back on. I'm afraid our America values and hard work can't save us again.

Simply because we have NO JOBS. All of our high paying jobs were traded away. So was the middle class as we know it for something that may never materialize.

That children is what happened to the middle class in America.

Get it right ole suck well! Republicans wrote NAFTA the china trade deal, the patriot act and every single anti american rag to come down the pipe! You are right about republican politicians hating america and forcing fascism on all of us! Your corporate masters are killing the middle class with your blessing. Do you support your corporate masters spying on it's employees? Do you own your employees? Is it really your buisness what employees post on social media?
